Christmas Dinner 2010 - Turduckengeon

This Christmas season, I took up this challenge posed by my new found "Si Fu", Karen. I asked her if she had any recipe to make the season’s favorite - turkey. She then proposed making a "Turducken" - a turkey stuffed with a duck and a chicken. The difficult part was to debone them. I went to You Tube and found some clips and learnt it online.

I then equipped myself with a meat craving knife and spent 2 hours deboning the 4 birds. I listened to my imagination and finally threw in a pigeon, since I have one in the freezer. Why not stuff it in also to make a "Turduckengeon". Not sure if anyone has done it before, so no harm trying.

I'll let the photos explain the rest. I skip posting the de-bone photos as I find them quite gross. All in all, the project took me about 4 hours to de-bone all 4 birds, stuff birds according to their sizes and then sew the big bird back up again. I baked it for 4.5 hours.

I enjoyed the process and the end results. Not sure if you would ;>
